Have you ever been to Bowlero Bowling Alley in Cayce, SC? Bowlero provides a fantastic indoor, family-friendly activity to beat the rising temperatures of summer and the unpredictable rainstorms that come with it.

Bowlero bowling lanes in Cayce, SC

Bowlero Provides a Great Bowling Experience

Conveniently located in Cayce, Bowlero gives a fresh take on bowling with its modern and trendy decor. They’ve got 24 bowling lanes, comfortable seating, huge TV’s, an arcade, and a sports bar.

My family and I recently made a visit to Bowlero on a Friday around 4 pm and we had the whole bowling alley to ourselves! I was a little nervous because of the young ages of my children, but both my daughter (1.5) and son (4) had an absolute blast.

Staff provided us with a bowling ramp to make it easy for them to join in on the fun. Along with the ramp, we also chose to have bumpers on our lane. Keep in mind that they aren’t automatic bumpers so if you choose this option, they will remain up for each player.

They also played fun, upbeat music that kept my kids occupied by dancing around while they waited their turns. The staff was very friendly and checked in on us about halfway through our game.

Pricing and Weekday Specials at Bowlero

A quick game of bowling would be the perfect indoor activity this summer! And good news is, Bowlero runs several money-saving weekday specials! A regular game of bowling will cost $5.99/person plus shoe rental fees. Weekday savings include:

  • Sunday Funday
    • $4.39/game and $3 for a $6 arcade card after 8 pm
  • Night Strike
    • $16.49 unlimited bowling on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 pm – close
  • Triple Play
    • $3.33/game on Tuesdays after 8 pm
  • Half-Priced Arcade Day
    • 50% off the price of arcade games all day on Wednesdays

Lanes can be reserved online at Bowlero’s website in either 2 or 2.5-hour time slots. This is highly recommended during weekends.

Sports Bar at Bowlero

Bowlero also has a sports bar located near the lanes with large flat-screen TV’s. Along with a variety of adult beverages, you can also order food that will be delivered right to your lane as you bowl. They offer burgers, wings, nachos, pizza, sweet treats, and more.

Find all the “summer reading programs near me” you could possibly desire on this list!

Summer reading programs near me: Columbia SC summer reading prizes

Read to Succeed This Summer

We’ve all heard the statistics and recommendations on reading – reading to your babies and tots will help develop their speech and literacy understanding, low reading levels, unfortunately, lead to increased school drop-out rates, reading increases knowledge, and so on.

The summer months are a great time to encourage your child to read while also having fun! Long car trips, plane rides, and stormy summer days make for the perfect opportunity to open up a book of their choice. Let kids read for enjoyment instead of purely school-related outcomes, while also practicing super important reading skills.

Read Together

Make it a family affair and jump into the challenges with them, model the behavior you’re wanting to see, and help them earn their potential rewards. Read books together, out loud. Or, share the books you’ve read individually. Consider how you can share your books. Present a book report, skit, poster, or find some other creative way for each member of the family to share their favorite book read this summer.

Below you will find both local and virtual reading programs throughout the summer and several of them can earn your children awesome prizes!

Benefits of Shopping Consignment

There are so many benefits to shopping at consignment stores. One of my personal favorites, and probably the most popular, are the deals! Let’s face it, kids grow out of their clothes and are interested in new toys in what feels like every other week…at my house anyway. I have scored some awesome deals by going to consignment stores – clothing with tags still on them, name-brand items that I would have NEVER paid full-price for, perfect holiday outfits, toys still boxes, and so much more.

Another thing to note is that almost all of these stores listed below are locally owned and operated! What a great way to give back to our community and support the local economy!

More reasons to shop consignment:

Your New Go-To, Locally-Owned Restaurant

I have heard so many great things about Chubby’s Burgers & Brewhouse for quite some time now. When my family and I finally got the chance to check it out, we were so excited and quickly decided it’d be one of our new go-to places. Chubby’s offers a very laid-back, local, and welcoming atmosphere and what’s even better is that it’s the PERFECT place to take kiddos of all ages.

Bring the Kids to Chubby’s Burgers and Brewhouse

Did you know that every Wednesday is “kids eat free night” at Chubby’s Burgers? Yep, FREE! But, that’s not the only reason we consider Chubby’s a kid-friendly restaurant. Chubby’s also has an arcade room and pool room just off the main eating area. While the pool room can often be a popular place for adults hanging out at the bar area, the arcade is the perfect place to keep those hungry kiddos occupied until the food comes.

Kids playing arcade games at Chubby's Burgers

We took full advantage of the arcade during our recent trip and my 4-year-old had a blast playing pinball and racing. From the arcade room, you can see the majority of the seating within the restaurant so we knew exactly when our food was ready. We all know taking hungry kids out to dinner can turn sour quickly, but at Chubby’s it’s a win-win for everyone.

Food Review: Chubby’s Burgers are Amazing

At our recent visit, my husband ordered the “Southern Charm” burger complete with fried green tomatoes and the house pimento cheese. I couldn’t help but steal a few bites for myself because it was SO. GOOD. 10/10 recommend! We also shared the onion rings which were equally delish and another must-try item would be the sweet potato fries! Truth be told, I really don’t think you could go wrong ordering any of their burgers. However, if burgers aren’t your thing, they also serve salads, club sandwiches, BLT’s, chicken sandwiches, and more! Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that they’ve also got more than 20 beers on tap!

The West Columbia Interactive Art Park is completely free and such a great way to enjoy a little bit of fresh air and fascinating art. The address provided will take you into a parking lot that is shared by several local businesses as well as the park. After parking, make your way to the covered shelter to begin your art park journey! The amount of time you wish to spend here is truly up to you, however we would guess that setting aside about 15 to 20 minutes would give you plenty of time.

A Fun Way to Appreciate South Carolina Artists

All of the artwork you will see at the interactive park was created by local South Carolina artists. The beginning of the art display starts with a neat 3D bench that is designed after the West Columbia riverbanks. From there, you will stroll down the sidewalk and discover several other sculptures, murals, and musical pieces. My son loved banging on all the drums and listening to the different sounds they each made.

At the other end of the Interactive Art Park you will see a huge, beautiful mural within the alleyway. The mural is done in bright, eye-catching colors and displays popular places and things to do all throughout Columbia such as the zoo, bridges along the river, biking, kayaking, and more! My family had fun playing a game of “eye spy” to discover all of the fun and hidden items within the paintings.

More to Explore in West Columbia

The location of the WeCo Interactive Art Park is absolutely perfect especially if you’ve got time to explore all that West Columbia has to offer. The park is located within an area that has several well-known restaurants, a brewery, clothing shops, and more.

D’s Wings

D’s Wings sits about halfway through the interactive park and while there, my family and I decided to give this restaurant a try. We were so glad we did as it was a laid-back and kid-friendly environment. There were numerous tv’s along the walls making it the perfect place to watch sporting events and have fun with family and friends. They even had outdoor seating which gave a great view of the art park.

Some other restaurants we think would be great to try, and that surround the art park are:
