Sports Summer Camps: Columbia, SC

We invite you to join us from June 10th through July 26th for our Highlander Day Camps, or your choice of more than 100 specialty camps in arts, athletics, academics, and more for ages 2 through 12th grade. We are excited to welcome both Heathwood and non-Heathwood families for fun times on our sprawling green campus, just minutes from downtown. Camp Burnt Gin is an overnight summer camp for children and teens with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses. DHEC operates the camp. Camp days are filled with various activities including arts and crafts, sports and games, swimming and boating, talent shows, campfire, and more.

Offers private, semi-private, & groups swim lessons, a competitive swim team, spring break & summer camps & so much more!!

Children aged 8 – 16 can enjoy Kayak Camp with the City of Columbia park rangers at Riverfront Park.

Barron Academy offers Camp XCEL, a full-day summer camp at various locations in Richland County.

Chesterbrook Academy’s Summer Camp has many activities to keep your child excited and engaged, including field trips, sports, STEM projects, arts and crafts, music, dance, and drama. Full Day Camp is available for rising 1st-5th graders. There’s also a Kindergarten Enrichment program for rising Kindergarteners. The Summer Enhancements Program is for ages 1-4.

Kids ages 8 -16 can learn new golf skills or improve on their already-known skills at Golf Camp with the City of Columbia at the James E. Clyburn Golf Center.

Brussell’s Gymnastics offers several classes for children of all age levels as well as programming throughout the year. They also have Sprouts Morning Out for crawlers through 5 years old (this is returning in Fall 2022) where kids can play and bounce around in the padded play areas.

Summer Camp: Brussell’s Gymnastics is offering a Summer Day Camp for rising kindergartners – 7th graders. Activities will include Arts & Crafts, Science & Cooking, and Games & Fitness.

Saint Joseph Catholic School offers a summer camp to current Saint Joseph students (rising 5K through 6th grade). Campers will take part in field trips, water play, music, arts and crafts, games, exercise and sports, and imaginative play.

Classes: Legacy Martial Arts offers classes for young children beginning at age 4, all the way through teens and adults.

Birthday Parties: Legacy Martial Arts birthday parties are fun for all kids, whether they have marital arts experience or not. Parties include some basic instruction as well as activities and all set-up and clean-up.

Summer Camp: Legacy Martial Arts offers a Summer Camp for kids with fun and active educational activities of all kinds.

After School Program: Legacy Martial Arts offers an after school program that provides a positive place for kids to spend time after school.

The University of South Carolina offers football camps for kids to learn new techniques and become overall better football players. Campers will be able to learn from current assistant football coaches and current student-athletes at USC.

Camp Chatuga is a traditional overnight summer camp for children ages 6 to 16 years old. Camp lengths vary from 1-4 weeks. Activities include horseback riding, water-skiing, BMX bikes, arts and crafts, archery, animal care, and so much more!

University of South Carolina Youth and Teen Summer Camps offer camps for kids and teens in sports, music, dance, and academics including music, drama, sports, STEM, and lots more.

Classes: Palmetto Performing Arts offers performing teams, Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, and Acro. Classes are available for all ages and skill levels.

Summer Camp: Summer camps are available, and are based on themes. Camp ages range from 3- 18, and are grouped by age range.

Indoor roller skating and an indoor playland is available for family fun at Skateland. Skate rentals are available. Special events include glow parties, pizza nights, and more.

Summer camp at Skateland Fun Center includes roller skating, use of an indoor/outdoor playground, field trips, crafts, and more!

Classes: The Karate Dojo offers classes for kids and adults beginning at age 3.

Summer Camps: The Karate Dojo offers a Summer Karate Kamp that focuses on martial arts instruction, skill, and training. Campers will leave camp with newfound confidence.

Sports skills in a non-competitive environment for kids ages 5 to 15. Activities include golf, tennis, swimming, arts and crafts and group games.

Classes: H. Haney Golf Academy offers lessons for juniors (kids 6 to 16), groups, and adults. Lessons are offered during the week and on Satrudays.

Summer Camps: H. Haney Golf Academy offers one-week camps for ages 6-16. Campers learn to improve their golfing skills through assessments, drills, and training.

Heathwood Hall offers a wide variety of summer camps for kids and teens including early childhood options, camps for teens, science, art, sports, and chess camps.

Classes: Lake Murray Gymnastics offers gymnastics classes for all ages of children, from just walking through the 12th grade. Classes are offered during the school year and summer. They also offer Ninja, Cheer, and a parent’s night out program.

Birthday Parties: Lake Murray Gymnastics offers birthday parties that include one hour of time in the gym with balance, foam pits, trampolines, and more, plus 30 minutes in the party area.

Summer Camps: Lake Murray Gymnastics offers summer camps for preschoolers to school-age where campers will train in small groups and practice gymnastic skills. Kids will also participate in arts & crafts, games, and strength training.

Parent’s Night Out: Ages 4 and up on Friday nights from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Register in advance.

The City of Columbia Tennis Camp is for ages 5 – 14 and will focus on tennis skills improvement and practice.

Richland County Recreation Commission offers a full-day Summer Mania camp at multiple locations for ages 5-16 that is designed to meet the physical, creative and social needs of kids. A variety of activities are offered including recreational activities, games, arts and crafts, and conservation activities. Camp is offered Mondays – Fridays. Check out their website for times and cost based on age group and length of stay each day.

Classes: Recreational youth sports available include track, basketball, tennis, flag football, soccer, and more. Youth programs begin at age 3.

Classes: Offers gymnastics classes for toddlers and preschoolers as well as school-aged children. In addition to gymnastics, they also offer Ninja classes.

Birthday Parties: 1 1/2 hour long party with instructional gym time, foam pit, trampoline, and lots more. Option to add cake service.

Summer Camps: Carolina Gymnastics has a partial-day Summer Camp for children ages 3-12. Activities include gymnastics, crafts, a foam pit, games, snack, and trampoline. There are also themed dress-up days to make the experience even more fun and memorable for kids.

Coach Heath’s Summer Camps at Hunting Creek are run by state-renowned swim coach Heath Edwards. Camps run for 4-5 days at a time and are available for a variety of ages.

Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission offers a variety of summer camps offered for all ages and interest at the parks. Check the camp guide for fees, dates, times, and detailed information.  Registration forms should be returned to Crooked Creek Park or Seven Oaks Park. Summer Camps: Aletheia Dance Inc. offers a 1-week Summer Camp Intensive for ages 3+. Campers are able to choose from one of 3 intensive tracks, and camp will also include enrichment classes.

Summer Camp: Capital City Gymnastics offers a summer camp experience for children ages 4-13. Activities will include games, crafts, science, mobile library, snacks, and of course, gymnastics!

Classes: Offers preschool, recreational, and team gymnastics. They also offer a free trial class.

Full-day and partial-day camps on a variety of topics including arts, sports, STEM, engineering, and academics.

Summer Camps: Carolina Family Karate hosts a Summer Camp for kids who want to learn or improve their karate skills.

Summer camp fun at Game Changers includes full-day programs for campers ages 5 to 14 years old in reading/writing, science, math, history, and faith-based programs.

Sports camps in basketball, soccer and baseball are also available.

First Baptist Columbia has several summer camps for kids ages 4-18. Activities and camps revolve around sports, arts, music, and dance to make sure all interests are accounted for.
