What? A day trip about pumpkins? Yes, you heard that right!
September 20th, 2025
You can have a pumpkin educational adventure at the Schiele Museum. Learn about the natural history of pumpkins, what fruits are related to the pumpkin, the nutrition a pumpkin provides, and more! The Schiele Museum has both an indoor and outdoor pumpkin patch. The outdoor patch is only open to the public for pumpkin patch events.

Family-friendly festival events at Carowinds during the day! Tricks & Treats is full of family fun, plus special treats like the Trick Oreo Treat Funnel Cake. Happening Saturdays and Sundays.
September 27th – November 9th, 2025
This annual extravaganza at Denver Downs in Anderson, SC features a u-pick pumpkin patch, live music, tons of kid-friendly activities on the farm, and delicious carnival foods. You can spend the entire day here and never run out of full fall things to do!

Pumpkin Express Train – South Carolina Railroad Museum
All aboard for a fall favorite! The Pumpkin Express runs the last two Saturdays before Halloween—October 18 & 25, 2025—and includes a stop at the pumpkin patch. (Tickets available starting September 1, 2025.)
Pelion Pumpkin Patch – October 4, 2025 (11 AM – 5 PM)

Thompson Family Farms in Campbello, SC offers a large pumpkin patch, sunflowers, upick cut flowers, and more, all to the backdrop of Hogback Mountain.
In the Spring, the farm has a upick tulip farm.
Adventure Farm in Barnwell, South Carolina, is a seasonal family farm attraction offering a variety of activities and events.

Lever Farms is located in Newberry County and is a working farm that is open seasonally to the public. The pumpkin patch and strawberry patch offer U-pick, and visitors can pick from the vine or select pre-picked for purchase. In the fall, there is a corn maze, an educational wagon ride, farm animals to view, and more.

Clinton Sease Farm is located in Lexington, SC and was established in 1940. The farm has expanded since the early 2000s to include several public attractions, including a corn maze, birthday parties, and school tours.

Cottle Strawberry Farm has loads of u-pick strawberries in the spring. They also have pre-picked options.
