What is The Grand on Main?
Conveniently located on Main Street in downtown Columbia, The Grand on Main puts a unique spin on the classic bowling experience. This bowling alley, restaurant duo is perfect for a family activity or even a night out with some adult friends and your significant other! The 1900’s building was once home to a popular theater and still displays several original features, giving it a cozy, laid-back vibe.
Boutique Bowling Experience at The Grand
At the back of the restaurant, you will find the bowling alley which is made up of just 7 lanes! Instead of traditional bowling alley seating, they’ve got comfy leather couches and large tables to sit at. You can order finger foods, beverages from a full-service bar, sodas, etc. all while you bowl. Here, you will also find all the necessary bowling equipment – shoes, bowling balls, bumpers, and even bowling ball ramps for your little tots.
The Grand is known to get a little busy, especially on the weekends. We highly recommend booking a lane online in advance.
Bowling With Kids at The Grand On Main
The first time my son ever bowled was at The Grand! He was almost 3 years old and had an absolute blast. It was so much fun watching him learn new things and get so excited when even just 1 pin would fall.
Yes! The Grand has bowling ramps for kids!
We took FULL advantage of the bowling ramps which he figured out quickly and were a tremendous help!
Keep in mind that beginning at 10 pm, only guests ages 21 and older are permitted.

The Grand on Main: Restaurant
My family and I have eaten here a few times and each time we’ve had a great experience! Like the bowling alley, the restaurant has a lot of non-traditional features that continue on with its comfy, cozy theme. The majority of the tables are large, round tables surrounded by cushioned couch-style seating. There are decorative pillows on the seats, low lighting, and unique decor all around.
Brunch is served at the restaurant every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am until 2 pm. Lunch and dinner are served throughout the week beginning at 11 am through 11 pm. On these menus, you will find a variety of starters, sandwiches, tacos, and entrees such as goat cheese basil salmon, and Louisville ribs. The chips and dip trio (specifically the “peppamento” cheese) and cheddar herb biscuits are two of my family’s favorites!
The Robinson Room: The Grand’s Secret Dessert & Cocktail Bar
Recently, The Grand has converted their secret lower level into a swanky dessert and cocktail bar called The Robinson Room. The menu here is always changing, however, there are a few signature desserts and cocktails that almost always stick around. One of their most popular cocktails is a creative, “Duck, Duck, Drink” that is served in a miniature bathtub complete with rubber duckies. I’m not sure about you, but this sounds like the perfect end to a date night with my spouse or a new place to try out for girls’ night!
Special Events at The Grand
The Grand on Main has a full line-up of musicians and fun events throughout the year. You will see live music from performers such as Katera, Roy Day Jr., John Monnecka, and more! They’ve also got a Bourbon Dinner coming up on February 28, 2023 from 6 pm until 9 pm. Be sure to check out their events page to stay up to date with all they have to offer!
