If you’re looking for an easy, indoor place to play near Columbia, then don’t miss Party Barn with its newly expanded offerings for all ages. We found it right in the middle of downtown Camden, grabbed an easy 2-hour parking space right out front, and went inside to explore!
Parking Tip: You might prefer to park in the lot out back to avoid the busy traffic on Broad Street! There’s a back entrance to Party Barn, too, so you won’t have to worry about walking all the way around to enter.
Main Floor: Play Space for Little Kids
We walked inside to discover a bright, colorful, and clean space for little ones on the main floor of Party Barn. This level is thoughtfully designed for young children, with age-specific areas where you can keep babies and toddlers in their own zones. There’s a dedicated infant area, a soft play pen for ages 2 and under, and play spaces to entice any preschooler.

There are 4 themed rooms for pretend play, including a veterinary clinic, grocery store, woodshop, and play house. If your kids are anything like mine, they could spend a solid hour in pretend play without ever breaking character! My oldest donned a construction vest from the costume rack and got to work, while my middle child bounced back and forth from the mini salon to the dollhouse.

The main playset in the middle of the floor promises a lot of fun, and my toddler repeatedly climbed the stairs to go down the slide. He also loved jumping into the mini ball pit and crawling through the crocodile tunnel—the perfect outlets for his abundant energy!
Upstairs: Play Space for Big Kids
Party Barn recently updated their building to include a brand new play space for big kids in the upstairs loft. It can be a challenge to find indoor places to play together as a family that work for all ages, and we cannot overstate our appreciation to Party Barn for addressing this huge need in a big way!
The second story features a wide open space with both retro and new arcade games, including some of our family favorites like skee-ball and air hockey. We were thrilled to find several games we could play all together (even with our youngest ones in tow) like foosball, LEGOs, a mini putting green, and giant Guess Who and Connect 4 games.

Electric game tables are also available, which may have new games downloaded from time to time or ongoing access to the internet.
Supervision Advisory: You will not be able to watch children on both floors at the same time, and you will need to stay with your younger children. Think carefully about older children’s size and maturity before allowing them to play upstairs without you, and check on them as needed. Parents are responsible for children’s safety and behavior at all times.

A Coworking Win for Parents
As we explored all that Party Barn had to offer, I just kept thinking what a perfect coworking space it makes for parents. I’ve been to my share of indoor play places, and the top pitfalls always seem to be visibility and seating. Party Barn has done a fantastic job with both.
Each floor is essentially one wide open room, making it incredibly easy for parents to watch kids all the way from one end to the other. The pretend play spaces on the main floor do create a little bit of a visibility barrier, but with tables, chairs, and couches at both ends of the room, parents can easily find a spot to see their kids in every part of the play area.

There’s a large section of tables and chairs at the foot of the stairs, too, giving parents a great option to watch their younger children on the main floor while listening out for their older kids upstairs. Nursing mothers will also appreciate the dedicated nursing room right behind the staircase, with curtains for privacy and a comfortable rocking chair.
Free WiFi is available for visitors, and I even saw a couple moms sitting on the floor with their laptops next to their babies, just chatting and working away! You’ll also find a limited selection of snacks available for purchase, but we recommend packing some of your children’s favorites and of course something to drink, too! Just remember that peanut products are prohibited.
Even when coworking, you are to supervise your own children and be responsible for their safety and behavior at all times. A signed waiver will be required for all visitors, and you can complete that ahead of time on the Party Barn website or by scanning a QR code on your phone when you arrive.
Pricing & Package Options
At the time of our visit, daily admission was FREE for ages 6 months and younger with a paying sibling, $8 for ages 6-12 months old, and $13 for ages 1 year old and up. Accompanying adults get in free with their children.
If you live in Camden or the greater Columbia area, you should definitely consider a membership to save some money on future visits to Party Barn. Your membership can pay for itself in just 4 visits, and let’s be real—as hot as it gets in the Midlands? Having an indoor escape like this will come in seriously handy on many days of the year!

If you’re only expecting to visit for a limited time, like over summer break, then consider a punch card, too. Punch cards offer discounted rates for multiple visits bought at one time, and larger punch card packages sometimes include a free play day!
Party Barn is also available to book for private parties, and it’s got an amazing setup for them! Parties can be booked on Friday nights or during the day on Saturdays and Sundays.
