There’s a new spot to check out in Columbia, and it’s already creating buzz—Three Notch’d Brewing Company is now open in the BullStreet District! Located in the former Iron Hill Brewery space and within walking distance of Segra Park, this is an easy add to your next family outing.
Whether you’re heading to a Fireflies game or just exploring BullStreet, this brewery offers a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy time together.
What Families Will Love
Three Notch’d brings together great food, craft beer, and a welcoming space that works well for groups, kids, and even your pup.
Here’s what you’ll find:
- 🍺 Virginia-based craft beer
- 🍔 Full kitchen with locally sourced food
- 👨👧👦 Kid’s menu plus vegetarian & gluten-free options
- 🔥 Heated outdoor patio (great for cooler evenings!)
- 🎉 Cornhole area for kids and adults
- 🐾 Dog-friendly patio
The space itself is large and open, making it especially great for families and bigger groups.

Our Visit to Three Notch’d
We visited during their soft opening with a large group—about 50 people—and the space handled it really well. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the kids had the freedom to move around and play a bit, which is always a win for parents.
I ordered the buffalo chicken salad, and we also tried the pretzel bites and fries. The pretzel bites with mustard dipping sauce were a hit, and the fries were great too. Other people in our group ordered a variety of items, and the overall feedback was that there were lots of good options to choose from.
A Menu with Something for Everyone
One thing I really liked is how flexible the menu is for families.
They offer:
- A kid’s menu
- Vegetarian and gluten-free options
- Shareable appetizers and full meals
One standout for me was the option to order a half portion of nachos. I love nachos (honestly, they can be a full meal for me), but I don’t always want a huge tray or the price that comes with it. Having a smaller portion option is such a nice touch.
Space to Play, Relax, and Hang Out
This is one of those places where you can truly settle in and let the kids enjoy themselves too.
- The back patio has two cornhole sets
- There’s plenty of open space for kids to move around
- The restaurant and patio both feel spacious and comfortable, even with a crowd
My kids especially loved being able to see the brewing tanks from inside the restaurant—it added a fun, interactive element to the visit.
The outdoor space is also set up really well, with overhead heaters for chilly nights and a great atmosphere as the sun starts to set.
Great for Game Day at Segra Park
One of the best things about this location is how close it is to the action.
Three Notch’d is:
- Within walking distance of Segra Park
- A perfect stop before or after a Columbia Fireflies game
- Right in the heart of the growing BullStreet District
It’s an easy way to turn a game day into a full family outing.
