Doko Meadows Park: 2023 Movie in the Park (FREE!)

Pack up the big field blankets, lawn chairs, pillows and snacks because Doko Meadows Park in Blythewood is hosting a 2023 outdoor summer movie series called “Movie in the Park”. Family-friendly movies are played once each month from now until October. And the best part is…they are FREE! You can follow “Doko Meadows Park” on Facebook for movie and event details as well as updates for potential weather interferences. The movies will each begin at sunset and are as follows:

  • May 20 – Indiana Jones & The Temple of Dome
  • June 17 – Grease
  • July 15 – Goonies
  • August 19 – Moana
  • September 16 – Double Feature! Top Gun & Maverick
  • October 21 – Hotel Transylvania

Free Summer Movie at Icehouse Amphitheater

Catch a free movie at the Icehouse Amphitheater this summer! On July 21, 2023, they will show the popular, family-friendly movie, Frozen II. The movie will begin at 8:30 pm. This will be an outdoor showing so be sure to bring your chairs and blankets!

The Little Theater: Summer Vacation Movies

A little under 45 minutes away from Columbia, in Camden, SC, The Little Theater is hosting a summer movie series with $2 movie tickets and $3 kids popcorn and drink combos! These movies will be held every Tuesday at 10 am and 1 pm beginning May 30, 2023. Here is the list of movies that you can expect to see:

  • June 6 – Kung Fu Panda
  • June 13 – Sing 2
  • June 20 – Spirit Untamed
  • June 27 – Minions: The Rise of Gru

The Big Mo: The Monetta Drive-In Theater

The Big Mo is a drive-in theater located just outside of Columbia, SC. They only show movies on weekends during the summer. The showings will be announced each Tuesday for the upcoming weekend. A few of the movies they plan to show for the 2023 season include: Elemental, Spider-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Teenage Kraken, and so many more! There are 3 different screens that show 2 movies each night so there are plenty of options for all ages! Admission prices are as follows:

  • 3 and under FREE
  • $5 ages 4 – 11
  • $10 ages 12 and older

2023 Regal Summer Movie Express

Regal 2023 Summer Movie Series tickets are just $2 every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 am. This offer is running from now May 23rd through September 6th, 2023 and features family-friendly movies that kids of all ages are sure to enjoy. Not only is this a great way to spend time together as a family, but it is also a great excuse to escape the summer sun.

The two Regal Cinemas participating around Columbia are: 

  • Regal Sandhill – 450 Town Center Place, Columbia 
  • Regal Columbiana Grande – 1250 Bower Parkway, Columbia
