U.S. Army Basic Combat Training Museum

This museum is located on Fort Jackson military base. It is open to the public. See the link up for more information. The exhibits follow the evolution of basic training since 1917. Guests can interact with soldiers during their visit. The museum is open Monday through Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday.

The Columbia Museum of Art has a small play area for children. Visiting the rest of the museum does require admission, but they offer several programs for kids and youth.
Summer Camp: The Columbia Museum of Art has a variety of summer camps for ages 4-12. Camps center around encouraging your child to be creative and imaginative. Register early; many of their camps are known for selling out.
